It's pretty much common knowledge that I'm the reporter who was Tased by Merced County Sheriff's deputies for a story.
I'll admit it was a horrendous feeling, in case my scream (likened by friends to a pig squealing) wasn't a clue. I couldn't control my muscles--and that was terrifying. It's safe to say I'll never write “deputies Tased the suspect" in a story without flashing back to my own experience.

As time marches along, tastes change--and so do trends, particularly in the automotive realm. What was decidedly not "cool" decades ago may be the hottest thing on four wheels now. When I was growing up in the 1960s, four-door sedans, station wagons, panel trucks and just about everything Rambler weren't cool. They were square, part of the lingo of that decade. One of the catch phrases from recent auto advertising mentions "your father's Oldsmobile." Some of these Oldsmobiles would be hot ticket items now.
