Well, not all of it. We avoided Sadr City, New Baghdad, Dora and Kadhemiyah, roughly 2 o'clock, 4 o'clock, 8 o'clock and 11 o'clock if the map of Baghdad were a giant watch dial. Those areas remain dicey, especially for foreigners. And even the area we were headed for doesn't guarantee safety.(Which is why I buttoned my shirt to cover up my Elvis T-shirt and took off my silver sunglasses--two fairly clear signs that I ain't Iraqi.)
