Anti-Obama groups and individuals have made much--or little, in the case of Sarah Palin--of his "community organizing" days in Chicago.

To them, what Obama did in those days raises communist-red flags, especially his tieup with the Industrial Areas Foundation. Founded in the late 1940s by activist Saul Alinsky, IAF has been, depending on your politics, either one of the most successful grassroots organizing outfits of the past 50 years or a socialistic menace to society.
