Calling All Wounded Iraq Vets...
| Submitted by ReporterLeslieA... on Mon, 2007-10-29 16:43. |
The Sun-Star is writing a series of articles about the war in Iraq and its impact in Merced.
My assignment is to write a story about a wounded vet, but so far I've come up empty handed on finding one.
With Merced's strong tradition of military service, I know there's a wounded Iraq vet out there with a story to tell.
If you can put me in touch with a wounded Iraq vet, please give me a call at (209) 385-2484 or e-mail me at lalbrecht@mercedsun-star.com.
Thanks, readers!
Thanks for the Tip

Thanks for the tip. I called the Wounded Warrior Project and they are looking for a vet for me. - Leslie A.

Wounded Iraq Vets...
Leslie:
Here's a source that you may want to contact in your search: woundedwarriorproject.org
This group aides all vets in their transition back to the CONUS. Sadly, most of the vets they specifically deal with have been wounded in action. The staff at Wounded Warrior Project are very friendly and helpful. I recently spent some time with some local vets through this organization. I would imagine that the organization has a dB of all the wounded vets in the area.
