Farmers’ markets on the rise

According to the United States Department of Food and Agriculture, the number of farmers’ markets in the country is continuing to grow.
That’s great news. For those folks who want to buy local and support local farmers, shopping at a farmers’ market is probably the best way to do it.
Merced has a few markets to choose from, with everything from fruits and veggies to honey.
So instead of buying grapes from Chile or avocados from South America, check out the markets that are open around the county.
