Health fair at Merced College

Count Rugen had it right when he told Westley in the Pit of Despair, “If you haven’t got your health, you haven’t got anything.”
Without a clean bill of health, it would be impossible for any college student to receive the training needed for a successful career.
So it makes a lot of sense that Merced College is holding a health and career fair from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, April 9 in the campus quad.
Merced College’s student health services and job opportunity services departments are hosting the fair. The event is free and will feature career opportunities and healthcare services available to students.
Employers looking to recruit include Costco, County Bank, AT&T, Radio Merced, the California Highway Patrol, Merced County Sheriff’s Department, Worknet and several branches of the armed forces.
Health participants will include Lions Club Eye Mobile, the American Cancer Society, Merced County Department of Mental Health, Merced County Wellness Center, Merced/Mariposa Asthma Coalition, Central Valley Massage Institute, as well as others.
For more information about the fair, call 384-6244 or 384-6238.
(Reporter’s note: This blog begins with a Princess Bride reference. If you still don’t get it, add the movie to your Netflix queue this instant. You won’t regret it.)
