Movies at school?

While conducting some online research for a story I recently wrote on how winter weather affects Merced County schools, I came across an interesting list.

On amazon.com, a Web site that sells everything from books to electronics to gym equipment, users can make lists of their favorite items. Most are suggested reads on specific topics, such as “the 10 best World War II novels” or “what to read when you’re expecting.”

But the list I came across, written by Daria M. of Houston, was titled “Recess movies: films you watched on rainy days at school.”

I remember almost every day where it was too wet outside to go there for lunch or PE class, my elementary school teachers would pop in a video. With all the lights off, my classmates and I would watch a movie we had seen at home countless times. We would pay attention during our favorite parts, but preferred to write notes back and forth about girls we were mad at or boys we liked.

Daria M. – a self-described “college grad and movie junkie” – is probably around my age because I remember watching at least half the movies on the list during my grammar school days. How many of these do you remember?
