Every once in a while, there's a news story that's spectacular enough that it draws stations from across the state. It's only happened a few times since I've been at the Sun-Star.
Monday's courthouse shooting drew stations as far as Sacramento that went live with the breaking news. I was surprised how many TV reporters that I'd never seen suddenly appeared on Monday and stuck around for the past few days.
Live trucks have been parked around the downtown courthouse and reporters have been clamoring for more information.
With the last big press conference held today, I suspect there won't be much else about the shooting for some time. For the family, it will be a time to grieve.
We'll probably write a story when the identify the other deputy who stopped Robert Eaton and also when the toxicology reports are finished.
It will only be a matter of time before another story breaks.
