RETIREMENT DINNER

Tonight I covered a retirement dinner of one Cmdr. Tom Martin, of the
Merced Police Department. A very well-liked man by all his peers.
There were boards covered with photographs of Martin in various
stages of his career and life. There were 100 plus well-wishers in
attendance. After dinner there were awards and plaques presented to
Martin. A great group of people in attendance, to remember the person they
either worked for, worked with or the man who'd been their boss, past or
present. I didn't get to stay for the whole ceremony, but as the Merced Police
Chief Russ Thomas said, Martin leaves with "his head held high"
having served the city of Merced with dedication and honor.
What a great retirement dinner.
Congratulations, Tom Martin, on your 28-years in the force. May the
force be with you in retirement also.
