I will be one of three questioners at Tuesday evening's debate for candidates running for the Merced County Board of Supervisors, which is sponsored by News-Talk 1480 KYOS.
Here's the drill:
I'll have three questions to ask.
I have some pretty tough ones ready to go, but I'd bet readers out there can do me one better.
Respond to this blog entry to send me your questions.

I'd ask what NEW skills they bring to the table. Do we REALLY want more of the same (old school politics and old money connections)? Two candidates work in construction. Are they doing this because they are committed or because their personal businesses are in the tank?
just curious...

I would ask how they will vote on the racetrack when it comes back up, also we need to learn their positions on the preservation of ag land - if they are tough enough to stand up to the developers who spread money around and blow smoke

Ask what they are planning on doing to help the homeless and to increase the General Assistance budget.

Ask him if he is willing to take a pay cut, give up cell phone, and car bonuses and also that 10% kick back if he gives a years notice, to spread that money elsewhere within the community where needed? Turlock doesn't do all the things merced does and has a bigger city why is that? Their budget is better, they pay their officals less, I mean what gives?
